Memory of a Star

(2025)

Beyond the Pull of Gravity

Memory of a Star is anchored in the belief that our understanding of what’s out there - the stars, the cosmos, and the universe - shapes how we understand ourselves. The way we perceive our environment, the communities we inhabit, and the lived
experiences of those around us is deeply influenced by this broader cosmic horizon.
In this sense, the careful study of what’s beyond us helps us reflect on the depths of
our own human experience.

Memory of a Star aims to collapse that distance, bringing the cosmos to a deeply human scale. This work analyzes data from tools like LIGO and Virgo together with a variety of Pulsar Timing Arrays, which capture the ripples of spacetime left as artifacts from ancient stars, transforming them into a virtual instrument (VST). By creating this instrument from gravitational wave data, the universal force of gravity is given a voice and that voice is shared with creators worldwide.
